About the artists:
Gary Dadd creates witty and impactful portraits in pen and ink and has developed a signature technique of creating the image using words attributed to that person. Writ features musicians made from their lyrics, Charles Darwin evolving from his own thoughts, and a stunning image 'the audacity of hope' rendered from civil rights movement quotes. These are presented alongside works by Luciana Rosado which meditate on the struggles of refugees and female empowerment. Gary has just returned from a recent exhibition of his work in Los Angeles. he regularly shows in Cambridge.

Deborah Pendell is a fine artist who creates digital artworks from her photography. Her background in graphic design leads her to create visually arresting work which on closer inspection contains layers of interest. Writ features limited edition prints from her recent 'stamps' collection, as well as her fantastic 'new wave' manipulated image of stacked records - which we've hung directly opposite Cambs Lock's resident record show, and alongside Gary Dadd's Freddie Mercury and Nina Simone. Deborah is preparing to show her work at London's Other Art Fair in March, and has had regular shows in Cambridge.

Luciana Rosado is a professional artist and arts educator with a particular interest in arts and health and wellbeing. Her thoughtful, multi-layered works invite us to reflect on ourselves as much as the artwork in front of us. 'My work focuses on concepts of identity, memory...thoughts and feelings... in the face of life events.' Her texture-heavy paintings offer pause for thought alongside the graphic works of fellow exhibitors Gary Dadd and Deborah Pendell. Luciana exhibits in Portugal and the UK, including recent shows at Cambridge Collages.
