Reimagined is a solo show of Deborah Pendell’s bold, bright and carefully composed limited edition prints. While the striking images and colour make a high impact first impression, the real beauty of these works comes from exploring the subtleties of the design. The show features key works from Deborah’s ‘Londinium’ and ‘Stamp Collection’ series.

The Londinium series uses Deborah’s own images of commonly photographed London landmarks, re-imagined with graffiti and colour inspired by street art, helping us to see these views with fresh eyes.
The Stamp Collection series takes real vintage stamps as it’s starting point which Deborah makes big and bold, shifts to a modern colour pallet and adds further interest with layering and tone.

About the Artist:
Deborah Pendell is a photographic artist who celebrates and re-imagines everyday, often nostalgic subjects, which she recreates as contemporary artworks. Her art reflects a love of colour, mood and metaphor and clear influences of Pop Art. Starting with her own high quality photos Deborah digitally manipulates the images before printing limited editions.
Her background as a successful fine art photographer creating photographic conceptual art for the book cover market, shows in her ability to settle on strong arresting images.
‘I changed my artistic direction as a photographer to create work that was not constrained, but where I could express myself freely.’ (Deborah Pendell)
Deborah is a founding member of the Artful Lens Collective, a member of ArtCan and lead contact for ArtCan East Anglia.
